A Ghostbusters Movie Night Halloween Party

I know we’re right around the corner for Halloween, but I promise it’s not too late to host a Halloween party! I put together a few no-fuss decorations in order to have a fun night with family and friends. I’ve been dying to see the new Ghostbusters movie so this was the perfect excuse for a movie night! Keep reading to find out more about our fun party – from the decorations, take-home gifts, to the decadent popcorn bar.

The biggest hit of the night was by far our serve-yourself popcorn bar! We gathered our favorite sweet and salty combos, and displayed them nicely in clear jars for our guests to help themselves. Our lineup contained marshmallows, candy corn, skittles, M&M’s, gummy worms, as well as a chocolate pudding for the more daring partygoers. Yum!

Pro Tip:

To make your decorations more interesting and dynamic, collect eclectic mason jars and containers for serve-yourself bars. We also displayed everything on these two crate baskets we had at home. Simply flip them upside down and you have unique raisers!

As a couple who are constantly on their phones – I mean hey, I’m a blogger and together we run a creative agency – I’m always looking for the latest and greatest out there. Together we signed up for the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS Plan; Unlimited Talk, Text, & Data which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE plus a free movie on VUDU every month ($7 value) per line for $49.88. Since Family Mobile bills you later, you only have to pay $19.88 for the Nano Starter Kit when you sign up. This was unheard of to us! The larger data amount allows us to catch up on all of our social media craziness, along with a movie night at home every month for free with the VUDU. I love an excuse to cozy up on the couch with my boo! We recently made the plunge to Chromecast, which is awesome to have with the free VUDU Movie!

We went with the LG K7, which was only $49.88, on rollback from $89.88! This is our dedicated work phone to share now. It allows us to separate our personal lives and work, which is something that we learned very quickly that needed to happen from working with your significant other.

An added bonus was the Virtual Reality experience that Walmart is offering. All customers who activate new lines on any rate plan from 10/1-10/31 will receive a code providing a free download of the Ghostbuster VR Experience. It is a magical experience giving users the unique experience of firing a proton pack and looking at ghosts straight in the eye. Such a fun party bonus! All you have to do is register and redeem a code online and then download the app from the App Store to have a blast!

Lastly, check out the Walmart Family Mobile Hub page to find an event in your area where you can access the above features. At these events you’ll find associates who can explain how to activate a new line and experience the free Ghostbusters Virtual Reality Experience, brochures on the plans and VR experience, AND a plastic 3D hologram!

No matter the occasion, I always make sure I have something for my guests to take home. For this case, I made these super cute candy bar wraps. I even want you to be able to have them too! Download them here. I tied these to a copy of the Ghostbusters Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD. This edition even has 15 extra minutes not seen in theaters, as well as 3 hours of hilarious extras! You can see the trailer here. People were so excited to be able to take a piece of the movie night home to their families too!
